Tom is a taxi driver. He lives in a big city. Every day he wakes up at seven. The class is at 9 for his daughter Anna — Tom drives her to school first. Then he works all day. He drives a lot of people to their offices and homes. Tom's flat is small but it is warm and comfortable.
Paragraph BJane is Tom's wife. She is a nurse. Jane and the other nurses work in a hospital near the city centre. Lunch is at 1 at the hospital. Jane usually has some meat or a salad. The price of food in the hospital café is not expensive — it is quite small.
Paragraph CAnna goes to school in a small building. It is not far from Tom and Jane's flat. It takes ten minutes by car. Anna studies English there. She learns new words every day. Her teacher asks: "What would you like to read today?" Anna always answers: "A story about a big city, please!"
Paragraph DOn Saturday the family walks in the park. There are a lot of children and dogs there. Tom buys fresh fruit at the market near the park. "What number of apples do you want?" asks the seller. "A large bag, please!" says Jane. The fruit is not expensive at the weekend market. "How much is it?" asks Tom. "Three pounds," says the seller. "Anything else?" — "No, thank you."
Paragraph EIn the evening the family sits together. Tom reads a book. Jane has a hot tea. Anna does her homework. She writes: "I work in an office" and "I walk in the park" to practise present simple. She also writes the plurals: "nurses", "children", "cities". Then Anna asks: "What time is it?" Tom answers: "It is nine o'clock. Time for bed!" Anna says: "Right?" Tom laughs: "Yes, that's right!"
